It is always hard to know which orientation of the canvas was intended by the artist.

Guess it may be all about how many times you can pass by it hanging in your abode without tiring of it.

I find more interest and possibility in the more abstract of art; seems I can see more in it each time.

I once blogged the question "what is art" :   Found it!

  1. Hello from Alberta, Canada ... Thank you for your comment, goatman ... smiles ... Love, cat.

  2. Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder...

That's my humble thoughts on the matter, anyway. :)

  3. I love that. Great colours. I almost want to wipe it away to see what's behind. I think you got the orientation right. I checked by turning it round and round as you'd expect!
What is art? It's whatever you want it to be depending on what your should is searching for. :)

  4. Found my old post. This was offered: A definition which intrigued me though is as follows: "Art is a revelatory expression of a supportive nature that balances human tendency for logical criticism". Pretty much catches it if we could just watch and witness.
    An obvious academic.

  5. When I look at it I see a Fall day outside and it's raining and hitting the window pane, blending and blurring all the fall colors together. Thanks for dropping by my blog tonight. It's been a long while since I dropped by your blog. Hope you are well. I'll be back again soon. Rhi

  6. Hmmmmmmm, art changes with the mood and the medium, and abstract is flexible, you're right. That definition, however, has nothing to do with emotions, academics cannot define the intangible...

  7. "Cannot define the intangible" true but they try and we have to balance their view with other views.
