Fractal Art

I really like the blue depths of this one. Of course the beauty can only come out in full resolution of the fractal since it is generated by the result of mathematical calculations for each pixel on the screen (a color assigned).

This was found at stacey's blog

Naming these can be a lot of fun- for me, at least-since each one seems to have a distinct effect on me, taken as an optical experience.

  1. Thanks for posting this. I feel a little vain saying this, but I must say that this fractal goes really well with your blog. :) The colors of the fractal and the background of your page blend nicely.

  5. I know what fractals are but I am wondering about the source of these. I looked at Stacey's blog and found lots of beauty there.

On your way from Missouri to Hot Springs, do you drive through Little Rock? Or do you turn south at Russellville to amble down the country roads?

  6. yes art expressed by machine is better than emotion filled art by humens

  7. Mr. Bradbury,
I'm not sure that art expressed in any form is to be downtrodden.
Someone has to program the machines!

  8. Hi goatman,
This has a definite nautical feel to it; sea shells, algae, sea grass…the beautiful blue color lends itself very nicely to this theme.

  9. Hi goatman!
It was good to see you back over at rdg's......

I honestly don't know if I like this image or if it disturbs me.......I like the ocean reference - nautical shells.....but then again, it feels like someone stuck a tube down my esophagus and took a picture......

and pardon my ignorance, but what is fractal art, btw?

  14. Loved your comment regarding The English Patient quote - and for reminding me of that 'ocean of sand' - it was as pleasing cinematically as it was in acting......and the words of the book........an all time favorite of mine!

    great weekend to you,

  16. fractal art is incredible!
It's unbelievable that maths can generate things so beautiful and strange. We often think Maths is boring and bad..looking at these draws we can change opinion, don't you think?
Thank you for posting...bye see you!

  19. I was going to say what stacey said about going with your blog colour as background! I'd have fun naming these too. I'd call this Pysanky, as it looks like the Ukranian art of painting Easter Eggs! Happy Easter!

(You have a very thoughtful blog!)
