So Once Again

Week-old rouen ducks. When fully fledged they will have irradescent green heads and look somewhat like a mallard.
Unfortuantely there is absolutely no way to tell them apart, save small size differences, so they will have to remain nameless for the time being.

  4. Kim, Morgan and Chris, maybe? You're wise to wait. No, we don't just work with eagles - we work with all birds of prey, including a third year Great Horned Owl named "Brigitte"...

...and that name really doesn't suit him at all anymore.

  8. Awww - little baby ducks! My cat Max dove into the pond at my old apartment complex once to catch himself a baby duck. Except it was a baby goose and the entire grown up flock was a little bit unhappy about the large orange cat in the pond.

I don't think I've ever seen Max move that fast. He was a wet unhappy streak from pond to door to under the couch. No more messing with the water fowl for him.

    maybe he was very hungry?

  11. Oh My Goodness...they are so precious. Life is just amazing. Funny how they seem like they will grow into their bills, like puppies grow into their feet.
So one of these little ones, is the same as the one pictured now (late October)?
    Just beautiful!

  12. Such cute little ducks. There is a place where I can see wild birds in a little stream. Sometimes I see a heron or mallard. Hawks fly overhead and California wild rushes shimmer blue and wheat colored in the sun. So much beauty in the world.

I agree with you about roses in general; but this one time in my life I could spell roses during a gentle rain. For some inexplicable reason this memory-moment, stayed with me.

Hope you were able to free that poor rooster.
