Navigating by the Light of a Minor Planet

The trouble with belief in endlessness is
it requires a belief in beginninglessness.
Consider friction, entropy, perpetual motion.

And the trouble with holding to both is that
belief in endlessness requires a certain hope
while belief in beginninglessness ends in the absence of hope.

Or maybe it's vice versa. Luckily,
belief in a thing is not the thing itself.
We can have the concept of origin, but no origin.

Here we are then: in a world where logic doesn't function,
or else emotions can't be trusted. Maybe both.
All known tools of navigation require an origin.

Otherwise, there is only endless relativity and then
what's the point of navigation, in a space where
it's hard to be lost, and even harder not to be?

Saying "I don't want to be here" is not the same
as saying "I want to not be here." It rains
and it rains and it rains the things I haven't said.

Poem by Jessica Goodfellow

Seems like these two complement each other.  I like words just beyond my grasp (that last stanza will take some airing)-- maybe in the right mood I can comprehend and understand the writer of the poem and the taker of the photo (Hanspeter Klasser of  Karlsbad, Germany with a Canon 350D). When queried, Mr. Klasser said that the photo above, Blue Tunnel, is an "alienation" of Red Rose -- another of his photos.
And the intent is probably just half a bubble off of level, which is fine.

I am afraid that I had to rely on the kindness of strangers for this presentation.

  1. Great post! I'll have to read this again.

  2. aaargh...I will have to read this over and over. I think I have a sense of it, but when I read it again, I lose that sense. But I love the photo!

Maybe I'm just not awake enough yet this morning. Hope you're doing well!

  3. Glad to see a new post. This is one that requires alot of reading over and over again to finally capture the true meaning. Beautiful photo!

  4. This poem reminds me of when I was a child, I used to lay awake at night and wonder "how did the universe begin if there is no ending"?? My mind would go round and round in circles and I would get frightened, so confused and trying to figure it all out...the big "black hole" had to start somewhere didn't it?

Nevertheless this is one of the view things my father helped me with. He, being very intellectual and a very high IQ used to wonder the same things when he was a kid to, he told me. Plus, like me he is a Pisces, so was sensitive in some ways like me. He said he still hadn't figured it out, but it's always good to have someone to talk to about the universe and your wondering "was there a beginning and will there be an end"??? Mind boggling isn't it?

I kind of understand the "I don't want to be here, or not to be here" though I think I know what you mean..it's all interesting to think about.

I hope your doing good. Let me know how your doing. I have an interesting song video I just posted that I think might make a few people feel a bit better about this chaotic world and "life" that we live in.

    Love and Blessings,

  5. Mind boggling! I love the fact that I will read this over and over and come up with so many variations of theme and ideas. Right now I am thinking of circles and spirals - no beginnings and no ends, yet endless in and of themselves.

I must say this could be a dangerous mind puzzle if your mind is muddled as mine often is these days. Intriguing, goatman! very intriguing.

    thinking good thoughts of you.

  6. Goood day. Appologiees for taking a bit of time to reply. I was bblessed with baby boy on 13 of Aug. I have read your post in Arabic and it is readable few corrections here n there but it makes sense. Where did get it done is is google translatoor or ...?
I love the though oof your discussion on believe and whare it leads. We all keep asking ourselves such question but some of us do not dare to ask outloud?

  9. round and round the circle we go......trying to find a corner to rest...

  10. no beginning- no end
    no end to no beginning

If there is no beginning and no end then either we are in a circle or nothing exists and learning about different dimensions and bending of curves prety soon we will find we can occupy the same space at the same time.Totally like....out there lol

  11. "It rains
and it rains and it rains the things I haven't said."

    its a wonderful share.
